The world of Internet Marketing is jam packed with millions of articles, ebooks, marketing products, list building systems, and so on and on! Daily I receive numerous emails from other marketers advising me of the latest and greatest ideas, tools, traffic building systems, automated money making systems and how so and so made a million bucks using this or that marketing package.

Whenever I receive an email from a marketer advising the latest “money making secret” that someone they know, and whom I have never heard of, made her/his first million…I ask myself this question. Would I, or would you, sell your million dollar money making secret for $49. I really do know that I wouldn’t! I would simply keep that secret to myself and continue rolling in the millions?

Last week I received an email from a well know internet marketer (name withheld for obvious reasons); selling a supposedly new automated system for a pittance. I had heard of this person around the internet traps and thought “Ah well let’s put him to the test”. For the pittance concerned no risk. Sure enough his automated money making system was simply a rehash of a very old system that never made me a dollar when I first saw the idea several years ago.

And on the subject of “free” we need to approach even that option with caution. Just yesterday I came across an excellent free url shortener and cloaking tool. Yes the tool was either free, or you could join for a small fee and get additional tools, etc. I took the “free” option. This morning when I logged on to check my internet mail boxes, the email address I had used to sign up for the free system was jam packed with marketing emails from paying subscribers to the url shortener and cloaking system.

I re-visited the relative site and read the fine print more carefully. Sure enough the price of “free” was that the paying members could send me their marketing emails every so many days. I have since cancelled my membership and will happily pay the few dollars involved for a top of the range system.

No doubt, if you have been trying to make a living via the internet, you also experience daily barrages of emails offering similar arrays of ideas, promises to make you wealthy on auto, etc. Maybe you have also given in to a very tempting offer to purchase a wonderful system such as an automated “article writing system” that in reality creates hundreds of “non-sensical gobbeldy gook” articles based on your original article. Isn’t it all most frustrating!

I came to the realisation a while back that no one gives million dollar ideas away for peanuts…let alone free. If they did, then the million buck idea would be worthless within a week by the time five million internet marketers copied the idea and simply flooded the internet!

I also came to the realisation a long time ago that making an income on the internet is not an easy nor simple adventure. However, you can start to make some inroads towards success by learning and understanding how to sort the wheat from the chaff. If you dont follow the process of separating the truth from the lies you dont have a hope in hades of making any money, let alone serious money on the internet.

I have been working in the internet marketing world since 2000. Eight years of studying, reading free and paid ebooks, undertaking this or that course of study, going down a hundred different paths that led to more disappointment and frustration. Finally the penny dropped that no-one was really going to spill the beans on how they became so successful…well maybe a few little bits of information…but never the whole story. Never enough to allow me to become serious competition to them…very sensible on their part.

(In the event you dont object to spending some money every month to obtain a full blown money making blogsite, the only one I would recommend is FirePow which certainly is an excellent full blown money making blogging system. I decided that what I needed to do was assemble all the knowledge and experience I had gained during that eight year period and do my own thing…and that’s what I commenced doing. Now dont get me wrong. I am not making a fortune on the internet. However things are moving in the right direction. The biggest development for me was the following:

I prefer to run my blogs under various domain names: for example this blog is structured as follows: http://facts4you.net/internet-money with the facts4you being the domain name. That way I can establish numerous other niche blogs under the same domain name of http://facts4you.net. Get the idea.

• A hosting service (Around $150 a year) - There are thousands of hosting services. One of the best would have to be Yahoo Small Business. I have a friend with his own hosting business so I use him.

• An autoresponder service. An essential tool. And the best which I have used for a long time is A Weber

The blog site you are currently visiting cost me nothing to design and develop.  I guess that’s truly free! I use Wordpress exclusively to design and build each blog. I can have a new blog, using the Wordpress platform, up and running in half an hour.

Can you now understand that you dont have to send yourself broke to setup and establish a money making blog. I understand the position many people get themselves into by getting tempted to outlay a few hundred dollars a month, and a lot more, to use someone else’s  money making websites (you hope). I sure have been there and for some people they might work. They never did for yours truly.

If you have not guessed by now the post you are reading was written and posted using the Wordpress Platform. The Wordpress Platform is excellent. I have used Wordpress for some time now and delight in the ease of creating a new blog, selecting a theme from literally thousands of selections available both from Wordpress direct or external designers…all for free.

Free is always a good deal…however; only if for free results in receiving  a worthwhile, usable product. And my experience with Wordpress has been excellent.
